Laval Quebec, Canada – Three in a row! The Phantoms kick off Canada road trip with a 3-2 Friday night win over Laval. It was Hockey Fights Cancer Night in Laval Quebec, Lehigh Valley has participated in this promotion twice. Lycksell nets two, Laczynski nets one and assisted two.

A fortunate frame for the Phantoms. Lehigh Valley had just four shots for the entirety of the first frame and was lucky to be tied up at 0-0. Laval had three power-play chances but failed to convert on all three. Cal Petersen stopped all 11 of the Rocket shots in the frame and came up huge on several Laval opportunities.
A completely opposite period from Laval. The Rocket had just one shot for the whole second period. Lehigh Valley with 12 shots, and tallying the lone goal through 40 minutes. Tanner Laczynski netted his second of the season on the man advantage, an odd bounce off the Rocket defender on a passing attempt at the 15:19 mark. Petersen stopped the lone shot he saw for the period, stopping all 12 he saw through two periods.
Olle Lycksell opened up the third period. His ninth goal of the season came in just under three minutes at the 2:59 mark. Olle did it again late in the frame to put the Phantoms up three. Olle Lycksell netted the game-winning goal, his tenth of the season off the feed from Samu Toumala who also assisted his tally early in the period. The Rocket would threaten as they had a man advantage for the remainder of the game following the Lycksell goal. They netted two power-play tallies. The first goal came at the 17:28 mark off the stick of Brandon Gignac. The second tally came with just 6 seconds remaining in regulation when Riley Kidney netted his first AHL goal. Lehigh Valley would hold off Laval for the 3-2 win in Quebec.
Cal Petersen made 24 saves on the 26 Laval shots in the win. Jakub Dobeš made 29 saves on the 31 shots he faced in the losing effort.
Laval in the contest had 9 power play chances, they converted on two of them for both of their tallies.
The Phantoms continue their Canadian road trip tomorrow against the Belleville Senators. The puck drop for that contest is set for approximately 7 p.m.
