The Flyers have reassigned Center Lane Pederson back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL). This move was reported late on January 30, 2026 (around 10-11 PM EST), via the Flyers media website. What does this mean?

  • Sean Couturier stays as the fourth-line Center.
  • Trevor Zegras remains at Center (no shift back to wing due to this assignment).

Pederson, 28, was recalled from Lehigh Valley on January 18, 2026, after Rodrigo Abols went on IR with a lower-body injury. He provided veteran depth on the fourth line during his brief NHL stint (appearing in games like the January 20 win at Vegas).

In the AHL this season, he’s been a standout for the Phantoms, leading them with 13 goals and 28 points in 37 games before the call-up. The reassignment likely clears space or reflects the team’s current lineup preferences at center. Pederson is on a one-year, two-way contract with Philly.
