Karsen Dorwart will represent the Flyers at the 2025 Rookie Showcase, held at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia on September 3. The Rookie Showcase typically features top prospects and young players.

Dorwart, a 22-year-old center, signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Flyers in March 2025 and made his NHL debut on April 5, 2025, against the Montreal Canadiens. His performance included a modest stat line (no points, two shots on goal, 2-for-5 on faceoffs in 10:32 of ice time) and showed promise as a tenacious, two-way forward with strong puck protection and defensive awareness, though his offensive output is not expected to be his primary strength. He played five NHL games in the 2024-25 season, recording no points and a -1 rating.

While Dorwart’s profile as a recent NCAA free agent from Michigan State and his limited NHL experience make him a candidate for a rookie event. The Flyers’ prospect pool includes other players like Jett Luchanko, Alex Bump, and Nikita Grebenkin, who should have been noted as potential candidates for NHL roster spots or development events, which could affect roster decisions for the Showcase.

Thank you for sharing such a well-structured and easy-to-digest post. It’s not always easy to find content that strikes the right balance between informative and engaging, but this piece really delivered. I appreciated how each section built on the last without overwhelming the reader. Even though I’ve come across similar topics before, the way you presented the information here made it more approachable. I’ll definitely be returning to this as a reference point. It’s the kind of post that’s genuinely helpful no matter your level of experience with the subject. Looking forward to reading more of your work—keep it up! profis-vor-ort.de
For me, I thought Dorwart and Bump were the two players to make the team when capspace would allow. I had Grebenkin as the first forward callup due to injury. I also have Macdonald ahead of Andre as defensive callup. Putting Fedorov on waivers only clears enough capspace for one player. I can see a scenario where Zamula gets traded which would make caproom for another forward and Gilbert can sub in as the 3rd left D, which would leave enough capspace for a callup. Just my opinion looking at our cap conundrum.
