The Flyers are starting to get healthy for once this season. Here is an update of injuries, and the list just continues to grow for this struggling club as each player returns to full health. It’s like they are cursed, and they hope to start a two game winning streak tonight against the Washington Capitals.
Sean Couturier is still out for 3 to 4 months, in his return is still around February/March. He is progressing, per Chuck Fletcher.
James van Riemsdyk returns tonight, per John Tortorella.
Bobby Brink return is still out under the 5-month umbrella and he was given that in July. He still falls under the original timetable for return, and he is progressing, per Chuck Fletcher.
Tanner Laczynski is out with a lower body injury, and is week to week.
Wade Allison is skating, so that’s a great sign he may return shortly.
Cam Atkinson is practicing, but with a different colored jersey. His hope is he returns soon and he considers himself day to day. He is probably getting conditioned of some sort.
Ryan Ellis is out for the entire season
Let’s hope the Flyers get some injured bodies back in the next 10 to 14 days, with the hopes of seeing a particularly healthy team for once this season. This is a rash of injuries that I have personally never seen before to a majority of key pieces to the overall success of this club.
One last tidbit, Zachary Wertz signed a two day contract yesterday. Maybe he plays tonight!!!!!
