John Tortorella yet again deflects attention away from the Flyers locker room

John Tortorella is known to be a hard-nosed coach, who commands the most from his players. He is not afraid of benching or calling out star studded players either. Tortorella is very good at deflecting answers away from his locker room, so that people would talk about him instead of ‘What’s wrong with his players’ or ‘Who is in the dog house’.

One thing is certain he has given the media some amazing quotes in the process from ‘We Suck’ to ‘Eat shit’. Saturday’s post game press conference was a short one, and yes Tortorella was the subject of deflecting attention away from his locker room while providing some polarizing quotes:

“You’re asking me dumb questions, guys. Really dumb questions. Jesus. Played our ass off. We done? Thank you.”

There is no doubt about it, the Flyers play hard. Each and every night they do mainly give 100% effort, even with all the injuries that this team has suffered. Unfortunately, they’re just not talented enough to win on a nightly basis under Tortorella right now. He doesn’t call out his players for the most part, a lot of times he keeps stuff in-house, so the media has to appreciate that.

On that particular Saturday night, Carter Hart just didn’t have it throughout the whole course of the game. However, he has arguably been one of the best players for the team throughout the course of the season, so what is the need of calling him out publicly for one bad game? What would that solve? Nothing, Tortorella deflect attention away from these questions, and make some mockery over himself so Hart doesn’t get the blame

Everyone should embrace Tortorella, my gosh he’s great at talking. He is a breath of fresh air in Philly, and really has provided the media with some earth shattering quotes in the past month or so. Tortorella continues to be wildly accepted in Philadelphia, and I think it’s due to Philly being a hard-working city.

The Flyers have been bottom feeders in the league for the past two years. One had to believe that a no non-sense coach was in the cards in the distant future. This current Flyers team needed a sense of direction and guidance, as they really had an embarrassing campaign this past season of historic proportions in a bad way.
