Cam Atkinson took part in a cheesesteak challenge with Gritty the first week he became a Philadelphia Flyer, who came out victorious out of the four major cheese steak shops in our sponsor Jim’s South Street, Pat’s King of Steaks, Geno’s, or Tony Lukes?

Jim’s South Street of course came out victorious, but then the unthinkable happened. Shortly thereafter, Jim’s South Street burned down, with a staple in the community vowing to rebuild.

Well, they did and today is the grand re-opening, re-opening to all, not just first responders or political figures. Today at 4pm the once popular cheesesteak place will reopen their doors to the public, for good this time.

Lots of Flyers fans, in particular, flock to Jim’s South Street before most home games, to include post-game believe it or not. Our team at Flyers Nitty Gritty was here to help with cleanup efforts if need be, donations, whatever it took for Jim’s to get back in the community as stated previously. Ken Silver said they will rebuild, and honestly they will come back better than ever.

Jim’s South Street has a special place in a lot of people’s hearts in Philadelphia and abroad. I’m proud to speak on the entire City of Philadelphia when I say that, thank God Jim’s South Street is back.
