Talk about taking his game to another level, Jake was a +14 last season, as he continued to play the game the right way. Voracek produced 12g,44a, lead by example, and was en route to his fourth straight consecutive season of 60 points or more until the season was halted to the Coronavirus (13 games remained). When Voracek speaks, the media and fans alike listen. He is one of the best players to interview and I asked him what the Flyers victory song was on Wednesday following practice, “We just selected it last night (1-27-21), there was a disagreement over it,” Voracek said.

Jake is a great interview. In this World it’s hard to find athletes to be as honest as him, and very rare nowadays with social media the way it is. However, it’s Jake’s personality to be an easy going guy, and he sure doesn’t hold back from speaking his mind.
At the end of the day Jake is an ordinary guy that is funny, and commands respect from his teammates. If he sucks he will tell you he sucks, if he plays well he will tell you he plays well. I also asked him what is given to the players who have been given the player of the game, “It’s something that shouldn’t be discussed publicly, with the media, or anybody else,” Voracek said. He continued, “You might want to ask someone younger or someone else. Maybe they will tell you.”
So what is it Flyers fans? Any guesses? No one heard the victory song being played in the Flyers locker room yesterday either. Jake you cannot be doing this to the great fans of Philadelphia.
Jake has skated well, and is off to a good start to the season. He leads the Flyers in points with nine (1g,8a), and is a passing machine. For his efforts, Voracek has surpassed 400 assists for his NHL career this past week. He looks confident, and it is infusing the youth with confidence, as well.
Voracek has become a leader this young Flyers team has craved for the past few seasons. He is leading by example right now, as Voracek is committed to playing a two-way game. Lastly, Jake was also giddy this past week when referencing Claude Giroux being the longest tenured Captain, “That means he’s really old,” Voracek said laughing. At the end of the day what is given to the players of the game might not be a big thing….who knows right. Jake just likes to keep people in suspense.
Thought he had close to 500 assists.
