The Flyers traded Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to the Calgary Flames for Andrei Kuzmenko, and Jakob Pelletier. Pelletier played for the Moncton Wildcats before getting drafted into the NHL. Now he’s happy to be a Flyer, “I’m excited to be here,” Pelletier said yesterday. “Coots texted me the day I got traded. Means a lot, means the world to me.”

Pelletier will become an Restricted Free Agent at year’s end (RFA). He’s a versatile forward, and one that can play both Wing and Center.
He can be utilized on both the penalty kill and power play. Pelletier always tries to create offense and space for his teammates.
Believe it or not, Pelletier skates well, sees the ice well, and possess’s excellent passing skills. Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella will like that he’s a responsible player defensively, “I’m a dog on a bone. I’m going to hit guys. I’m going to play every shift like it’s my last,” Pelletier says of his game.

A young 23-year-old in Pelletier is ready to make an impact on his new team. Pelletier wants to become the player the Flames thought they were getting when they drafted him. He has four goals and seven assists on the season in 24 games played.
“We will see with Pelletier, maybe he provides a spark, spunk,” Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere says of Pelletier.
Unfortunately, Pelletier lacks size in a major way, so like most prospects he needs to add more muscle stronger in order to maximize his effectiveness.
