Jakob Chychrun was a player the Flyers were interested in for a number of years.. Obviously, the Flyers never engaged in serious talks to obtain the blueliner, or he could very well be a Flyer today.

After the Washington Capitals defeated the orange and black last night. Chychrun had nothing but good to say about the City of Philadelphia. He knows part of the cities history, due in large part to his father playing for the Flyers back in 1996-97. Jeff Chychrun, Jakob’s dad, was drafted by the Flyers, 37th overall back in 1984. He wound up playing five seasons with the Flyers, as he suited up in 199 career games with the organization.

“He loved his time here. He loved being a Broad Street Bully,” Jakob Chychrun said last night, about the time his dad played as a Flyer.

It’s always nice to see other players compliment the City of Philadelphia. Being a Flyer is special, by many, so obviously that meant something to Jakob’s father.
