Dan Vladar signed a two-year, $6.7 million contract with the Flyers on July 1, 2025, with an average annual value of $3.35 million.

Vladar, 27, previously with the Calgary Flames, had a 12-11-6 record, a 2.80 goals-against average, and a .898 save percentage in 30 games last season, “Since the first time I heard about the organization that they had some interest in me, I really wanted to come,” Vladar said Friday. “I’m happy it worked out and I can’t wait to be going there. I just want to show up as ready as I can and play my best hockey. I think the way it should be, whoever’s going to play the best should be playing. Obviously, I’m going there to play as many games as I can, but I’m there for team success.”

He is expected to compete with Samuel Ersson for the starting goaltender role, potentially forming a tandem, while Ivan Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov are likely to see reduced roles or be assigned to the AHL, “I don’t want to hear anything. I’m going to show up and do my best. Whoever is playing the best, should play,” Vladar said about possibly starting next season for the Flyers.

Jake Voracek and Goaltending Coach Kim Dillabaugh were huge in getting Vladar to sign in Philadelphia, “When he was playing (Voracek), we used to work out together,” Vladar said. “He’s obviously told me the best things about Philly. I was asking him about the goalie coach Dilly. He’s another big reason on why I really wanted to come.”

Flyers’ General Manager Danny Brière noted Vladar’s enthusiasm to join Philadelphia and compete for the No. 1 spot, addressing the team’s goaltending struggles from last season, where they had the NHL’s worst Save Percentage (.872).
