Five Flyers’ prospects (Porter Martone, Jett Luchanko, Jack Berglund, Heikki Ruohonen, and Max Westergård) reached the semifinals, guaranteeing at least one Flyers prospect in the gold medal game (Sweden vs. Czechia).
Several earned leadership roles, and Center’s like Berglund and Ruohonen significantly boosted their prospect stock with strong play.The tournament concludes today with medal games. Flyers fans have plenty to watch in these prospects’ international performances!
Porter Martone tied the game briefly last night for Canada with a clutch goal, but Czechia advances to the gold medal game against Jack Berglund and Sweden.
Jett Luchanko also notched his first point of the tournament with an assist in the loss. Canada will now play in the Bronze medal game today against Finland.
Martone now has 5g,3a in six games, as Luchanko has had his best games of the tournament the past few games.
Berglund notched an assist, and scored a beautiful goal in the shootout to lead Sweden past Finland. Berglund also had a massive hit in the game, as he’s doing everything possible to win the coveted WJC Tournament. He now has 3g,5a in six games.
