The Flyers three goalie carousel/saga should be coming to an end here shortly. Ivan Fedotov, as indicated last week, officially has become the Flyers number two Goaltender.
Fedorov has surpassed Aleksei Kolosov in the Goaltending pecking order, and it’s actually quite a story. I mean he went from just skating up and down the ice at practice as the number three netminder, to a starting role sort of speak when Samuel Ersson was injured, to now the backup Goaltender in a matter of just a month.
Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella on Ivan Fedotov, “He’s moved by (Aleksei Kolosov). He’s given us some good starts. He wouldn’t have been moved to two if I didn’t feel comfortable with him.”
Fedotov is officially the number two Goaltender for the Flyers, passing Kolosov. The only thing left to do is to send Kolosov back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and let him hone in on his craft there.
