You can hear the call now on Thunder radio, “Charlie Pens Jr. carries the puck up the ice, what a move at the blue line as he slips a pass to the cutting Evgenii Demin, and he scoresssssssssss. Oh my!!!! He undressed Elmira enforcers Goaltender Troy Passingham for a beautiful dipsy dunkaroo goal.”
The Delaware Thunder had many unknowns in just their first season in Harrington, DE, at an arena that would become known as the “Thunderdome.” one of the biggest unknowns was attraction, would people become attracted to a minor league hockey team, but that’s exactly what transpired.
Thunder fans are unique, they are loud and proud as they wear Viking hats, while others are waving cowbells. Well guess what folks they are back with authority this season:
It was a sad day, of course last year when does Thunder closed their doors due to Covid-19. However, brighter days remain ahead as the Thunder embark on a new 2021-22 season. They are back folks, the Thunder are back, and so is a proud Flyers fan in a great hockey player in Ryan “Magic” Marker, whom is currently on a loan to the Reading Royals. He plays in all situations the coaching staff asks of him, and he wanted to play closer to his hometown of New Jersey. Marker is an excellent skater that has great acceleration or a first step, has great vision of the ice, and can hit the net nine times out of ten.
The Thunder have some familiar faces returning to the Thunderdome this season: Charlie Pens Jr., Taylor Cutting, Evgenii Demin, Bryce Like, Alex Basket, and Ryan Marker. It’s good to have the familiarity in what will become the Thunder’s second season of professional hockey (Technically).
what will transpire this upcoming season is anyone’s yes, but this team is ready to hit the ice. They are ready to get in front of their proud Thunder fans, they are ready to fight if they have to, they are ready to show the FPHL that this team is a contender. Let’s ring those cowbells now, Thunder fans. Letttt’s goooooo.
