On Saturday night, the 5-0 Florida Panthers came to town. The action started three minutes into the opening period when Jonathan Huberdeau beat Carter Hart to make it 1-0 Panthers.

In the second period, Claude Giroux beat former Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrobsky with a slap shot to tie the game up at one a piece. The second goal came short-handed and on a breakaway from Cam Atkinson to put the Flyers up by one. This was actually the earliest the Flyers have scored a short-handed goal in a season since 2011.
With less than a minute left in the second period the Panthers got a goal by Owen Tippett to knot the score at two. Twelve minutes into the final period Jonathan Huberdeau struck again and made the score 3-2 Panthers. Then with a minute Sam Reinhart put the game to bed with an empty netter, which made the score 4-2 Panthers.
“It was a pretty good test for us to see where we stand. They’re obviously rolling pretty good right now, but that game was there for us to win.” – Claude Giroux

The Flyers look to bounce next on Wednesday October 27th at 10pm eastern against Edmonton on TNT and NBC Sports Philadelphia. In addition, the Flyers have a complete day off today, and will resume practice on Monday at 1130am in Voorhees.
