It appears that Porter Martone, the 6th overall pick by the Flyers in the 2025 NHL Draft, is headed to Michigan State University, per Elliote Friedman. This will stop all speculation, and this will also help his development in a league amongst men.

Ironically, I wrote this piece below yesterday:

Martone will commit to play college hockey for the Spartans. This move follows Michigan State missing out on another top prospect, Gavin McKenna, and losing Hobey Baker Award winner Isaac Howard to the NHL, making Martone a key target for their roster. His decision aligns with the NCAA’s new rules allowing CHL players to join college hockey, offering him a chance to develop against stronger competition before pursuing an NHL career.

This young prospect in Martone will also join fellow draftee (Teammate) Shane Vansaghi. Now both can wreak havoc in the NCAA on the same team together.
