Scott Laughton is an easy to forget about if you’re a Flyers fan because he’s never quiet hit the offensive production that fans would hope would come from a 1st round pick. With comparisons to Flyers ex-captain, Mike Richards, Laughton came in with big shoes to fill. After some early struggles with injuries and inconsistent play, Laughton became easily forgotten about. However, in secret the Flyers were working on developing one of their best defensive forwards. While Laughton was being bounced back and forth from the AHL to the NHL for being too good to play in the minors, but not being good enough to be an NHL regular. The Flyers went back to the drawing board and forced Laughton to become the defensive forward that he could be in the NHL. Now that he’s an NHL regular fans will start to notice that his production will improve from year to year. The Flyers didn’t hold onto Laughton for this long for no reason and like a fine wine, the wait seems to be worth it. One pace for his best offensive season in the NHL, Scott Laughton, is getting ready to show people he’s better than his numbers have shown.
