Egor Serdyuk is a very underrated prospect in the Flyers system. This season with the Victoriaville Tigres in the QMJHL, he put up 40 points, 16 goals, 24 assists in 50 games played. Egor reminds me a lot of Ivan Provorov with his passing abilities, obviously they play different positions as Ivan plays defense, Egor at wing, but the way they move the puck is jaw dropping at some moments. A very quick release is in Serdyuk’s repertoire as well. Here’s what he had to say!

What kind of role do you see yourself playing in the NHL?

“I think, I can be kind of be a 2nd-3rd line player, I like score goal, make good play. More offensive player.”

Even though, the Coronavirus has hit, how do you normally adapt training in the off-season coming into Development Camp?

“When coronavirus began, and everything became closed. I started to train at home, sometimes I went to synthetic ice. Got some muscle and healed my injury that was in the season.”

What have you been doing to keep yourself occupied? Any differences in training, workout, etc?

“Yes, like I said, I did various exercises to become bigger, I also worked on my speed and skill.”

What was transition from Junior to Pro like for you?

“I can’t say that it’s hard, of course, a different style of play, higher speed, a lot of great players. The big difference is the approach to business, in NHL great professionals work both on ice and in non-ice”

How much do you miss playing?

“Well, I would like hockey to return as soon as possible, willing to again feel these emotions when on ice. Fans support the team, and your team wins this is not transmitted emotions.”

Great interview with Egor here! So excited for this kid’s future!
