Flyers take another against Buffalo. Carter Hart back and believing? A huge game from the number one goalie. Let’s get into it.

Quick scoring in the second

Flyers jump off to a 2-0 lead with goals by Sean Couturier and Michael Raffl. Another goal was eventually added later on in the period by James van Riemsdyk on a fantastic redirect. Something JVR has done a proficient job at all year long. The quick start in the second period certainly took away any confidence the Buffalo Sabres may have had going forward. The Flyers took a 3-0 lead heading into the final period and it held to the final horn.

Solid Penalty Killing

The Flyers were facing the best power play in the NHL. Stopping this lethal power play with a healthy Jack Eichel back in the lineup should have made shutting down this top ranked power play a lot more difficult. However, the Flyers were ready for the challenge though, stopping all three of the Sabres power play advantages. This will be a huge boost for the penalty kill going forward, and an excellent job by the the penalty killers in today’s game.

Carter Hart with the save!

This young 22-year-old Flyers goaltender has been the talk of the town for some time now. The struggles that Carter has gone through has been a concern for sure, but we have to remember that he will have growing pains. Coming off a tough loss by Boston in Lake Tahoe, Carter Hart bounces back with a stellar performance today against the Sabres. Hart stops all 28 shots he faced to earn a huge shutout win. Excellent bounce back game for the young goaltender.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it
