The Flyers are back in the win column after an electric 5-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. This, coming off of the performances of the young guns. While the team hasn’t been winning much, as of late, we’ve seen the success of this team’s future.

Coming into the season, Morgan Frost had a huge amount of expectations. He looked stronger, faster, and more composed as a player. The start of Morgan’s 2022-23 campaign was one to forget. After scoring two goals in the opener against the Devils, Frost would register only five points in his first 25 games.

Now, in his last five games, he has registered six points, including a four point night in the overtime loss to Arizona. Not only is Frost able to score, his composure with the puck has grown. He seems to have much more confidence in the offensive zone.

As of late, Frost has been on a line with sniper Owen Tippett. Tippett, who potted two more goals on Tuesday night, has already matched his career high in goals with 10. Just like Frost, Tippett’s production as of late has been excellent. He’s been a point per game player in his last five games. These two together have built an excellent chemistry and we all look forward to seeing it grow.

We can’t talk about success without talking about Carter Hart. To many fans, Hart is the singular reason the Flyers have been able to stay in games this season. Hart has posted a solid .912 save percentage so far this year on top of a 2.82 goals against average. The main thing to focus on is his league leading 729 saves.

The case seems to be this: the more shots Hart sees, the more likely the Flyers are to win or at least make the game close. Twice this year, Hart has had his career high in saves at 48. Both games were wins against two very good teams. Of course, the last piece of this puzzle is Cam York. The former Michigan Wolverine was recalled by the Flyers earlier this month and has been playing some top notch hockey. In his six games this year, he has four points (1g,3a), and is +5. His time in Lehigh Valley has really seemed to make an impact player. After an abysmal pre-season, many questioned whether York was the answer. In his very young season, he seems to have found his groove.

Fortunately, the success of the youngsters seem to have given fans some hope for the future. The players highlighted in this are just the tip of the iceberg. Players like Tyson Foerster, Ronnie Attard, and Samuel Ersson are all lined up to help this team succeed. Let’s hope their success continues to grow.
