Flyers stun Vancouver

The Flyers have made a blockbuster trade. Today, during the game they traded away Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for Jamie Drysdale and a 2025 second round pick.

this is mind-blowing news to lots of Flyers fans, but apparently Gauthier inform the Flyers he did not want to play for the team moving forward. In addition, the Flyers also needed a 1A defenseman and Drysdale is that.

Drysdale is 21-years-old and was selected by the Ducks in the first round, sixth overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft. He has tallied five points (1G,4A) in 10 games with Anaheim this season. Drysdale is 5’11 and weighs 185 pounds. He’s also from Toronto, Ontario, and has tally 45 points and 123 games please with the Ducks to include this season. He’s a good skating Defenseman, and Keith Jones was that the world juniors tournament this past weekend so maybe he got information from Gauthier.

A young Gauthier, 19, stands at 6’2 and weighs 189 pounds. Not only is this a solid build for not only a pro hockey player, but this gave the Flyers much needed size down the middle in the future. At first glance, he’s a versatile player that can play both Wing and Center. He played mainly Center for the Boston College Eagles last season, but he reveals that he will play any position that best suits what the coaches needs.

Gauthier was born in Sweden. His father, a former Reading Royal Sean Gauthier was a goalie in the Swedish Elite League and for the Reading Royals, so it’s kind of shocking he has become a Power Forward. The first name Cutter came from a Swedish cookbook, yup a cook book as Cutter exclaimed after he was drafted by the orange and black. For his efforts, he killed it for the Boston College Men’s Hockey Team last season, as he netted 16 goals and 21 assists in 32 games played. He was on fire, and Gauthier burned out the bulb to the goal lamp, Gauthier scored that much.

Cool Matvei Michkov merchandise

The Flyers are now targeting shoot-first players, and it’s become evident with the past two drafts. For instance, Tyson Foerster’s best ability is his shot, while Samu Tuomaala, although struggling in the Liiga League, is a first shot mentality player. The Flyers are really trying to find a sniper(s) to wreak havoc on their opponents in the future.

Fortunately, the Flyers have Matvei Michkov in the future to replenish a generational talent.

  1. CG did not want to sign with the flyers because of Torts. Being a high draft pick, he had the power to do that. He did not want to have to deal with Torts’ “in your face” personality daily!

Few players now are willing to take the intense mental abuse under Torts.
So players with a limited no trade clause, pending UFA’s, entry-level high drafts… They’re not coming or staying with the Flyers!

You can be sure that many players have Philly on their no-trade lists currently just like they have Arizona and Winnipeg. Krug had Philly on his…

Now the Flyers are setback in the rebuild with the loss of CG, which is really a shame 🙁

    1. Not sure about your info but I’m glad I don’t have krug here. Boston dumped him for a reason after being run over in playoffs and chara holding him up every game . All the vital cup players on blues were sent to contenders , St. Louis is now a vast wasteland of players that don’t work in playoffs for next 10 years and beyond . Glad we don’t have krug that was rumorville at its finest if your doing an honest rebuild if I’m fletcher or Briere I’m not touching krug . Certainly not for Sanheim and Sanheims size for playoffs
