Shayne Gostisbehere was moved in and out of the lineup and waived at one point during the 2020-21 season. Now the Flyers get some much-needed cap relief as they have shipped Ghost to the Arizona Coyotes for strictly cap relief. The Arizona Coyotes will also receive a second and seventh round picks in 2022.
He has 60 career goals and 159 career assists, with a plus-minus rating of -31.
Fletcher has been actively seeking to get some much-needed cap relief. He exposed big contracts like Jake Voracek, Shayne Gostisbehere, and James van Riemsdyk for the expansion draft, with the hopes that the Seattle Kraken would take one if these said players for some much-needed cat relief.
This is exactly the kind of move that the proud orange clad faithful deserve. In contrast to previous years, this is a cut-throat, veteran-first, win-now mentality, as Fletcher means business this offseason. The Flyers are trying to remain contenders, and some general landscaping is taking place. It’s building an extremely solid foundation for years to come. Low and behold this was strictly a salary dump.
The Flyers are contenders? Did I miss something? Contenders for what? Fletcher is getting schooled and looks like a fool.
He exposed JVR, Voracek, and Ghost but Seattle saw right through that scheme and took the Flyers youth instead.
If Ghost regains form and lights it up out in Arizona then Fletcher will look like an absolute moron and the Flyers will be the laughing stock of the league.
