The Flyers are looking to right the ship from the last two seasons, so Chuck Fletcher is going to be a busy man this offseason. Last offseason he tried changing the culture, while giving this team a facelift, to no avail this past season.

With that being said, the Flyers have a significant amount of prospects that need to sign ELC’s (Entry-Level-Contract) or they become free agents, and they also have a significant amount of players that are RFA’s (Restricted Free Agent). Here is a guide to keep everything straight.

ELC’s (Entry-Level-Contract3)

Connor McClennon- 19, June 1, 2022

Marcus Westfält- 22, June 1, 2022

Jack St. Ivany- 22, August 15, 2022

RFA’s (Restricted Free Agent-13)

Kirill Ustimenko

Morgan Frost

Owen Tippett

Jackson Cates

Zack MacEwen

Hayden Hodgson

Isaac Ratcliffe

Linus Högberg

Matthew Strome

Linus Sandin

Maksim Sushko

Tanner Laczynski

Wade Allison

After further discussion with Bill Meltzer, Frost, J. Cates, and Ustimenko are 10.2(c) restricted free agents. This means these players are ineligible for an offer sheet from another team, and are also ineligible for arbitration. These players do not have enough pro time to develop full RFA rights, due to injuries.

UFA’s (Unrestricted Free Agent-9)

Nate Thompson

Ryan Fitzgerald

Kevin Connauton

Keith Yandle (Hasn’t officially retired)

Adam Clendening

Martin Jones

Felix Sandström

Samuel Morin (Medically Retired)

Brennan Menell

I really don’t expect any shockers in regards to the restricted free agents for the Flyers, as I would expect all of them to Re-Sign. Moreover, the majority of the free agents will walk with the lone exception for Sandström, although I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants a fresh start elsewhere with the signing of Ivan Fedotov a few weeks ago. Lastly, McClennon and St. Ivany will both sign their ELC with the Flyers more than likely. Regardless of the outcomes of these aforementioned contracts, Fletcher has a busy offseason at hand once again.

  1. Because he is. His job is on the line this year. They need to figure out why this team has so many injuries.
Are they not in great shape to start the season. Maybe it’s time to play less on the boards where you are constantly being pounded and figure out how to play more center ice and from there score more goals

  2. If I was the Flyers front office I would give a Tender Sheet to Martin Necas of the Hurricanes. Make it 5 million and the cap strapped Canes can’t match.
