The Flyers were back at it again with against the New York Islanders to complete another sweep, and that’s exactly what they did. A great game by Joel Farabee and Brian Elliott to get another win. Let’s get into it.

“A Natty Hatty”

Big game for Flyers Right Winger Joel Farabee, as he notches his first career hat trick. A strong start for Farabee in the shorter season as he now has five goals, which is tied for the team lead with JvR. Farabee will be a big part of the Flyers success in the future, Congrats to Joel Farabee.

Tough Third Period

This season has been pretty good for the Flyers offensively. It’s one of their strongest periods, but it’s also one of their toughest defensively. The Flyers came into tonight giving up 11 goals and adding two more tonight, making it 13. Certainly this is atop of the NHL. You certainly don’t want to give away games, especially late in them. The Flyers need to tighten up in the third period it’s as simple as that.

Great goaltending from the back up

The Moose gets the call again, and he had another solid performance. He gave up two goals later in the game, but came off turnovers and unfortunate giveaways from the Flyers. The Moose made some stellar saves in the late overtime period, which eventually lead to the game winner by Hayes. The team has to be very comfortable knowing that when the back up gets the call, he always has a chance to do something special. Great game by Brian Elliott.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
