Geez, the doctors for the Flyers organization deserve a raise. The Flyers have been battling, and trying to overcome adversity with injuries for the past month and a half or so. Each time a player comes back from IR (Injured Reserve), another one seems to hit IR. Shayne Gostisbehere, although he has not been formally placed on IR by the Flyers, will be out for three weeks (Beginning today), as Ghost will receive arthroscopic knee surgery on his left knee next Tuesday on January 14th. This is the same knee that he tore his ACL with during the 2014-15 season. Ghost is an integral part on the Power Play Unit, as he is one of the best at holding pucks on the blue line.
It’s a tall task for the orange and black to overcome this type of adversity, in a positive manner night in and night out. They are overcoming long-term injuries/diagnosis sustained to Nolan Patrick, Samuel Morin, and Oskar Lindblom. One can only imagine how tough it is to overcome these injuries throughout the course of the season.
However, the show still goes on. Saturday night is a huge game against another juggernaut in the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mark Friedman, a Flyers 2014 draft pick, filled in admirably for Ghost last night against the Washington Capitals. He played well by logging 13 shifts in just 11:49 of ice time, while registering one hit. The Flyers have to keep their eye on the prize, and not let these injuries dictate their season. Is it easy to do, no, but injuries are no excuse during the course of an 82 game season.
The Flyers have to keep focused, and play with heart. They hit a speed bump on the road, but after last night’s victory against the Capitals, hopefully, they are headed in the right direction. The Flyers have overcome injuries all season, this time shall be no different.
Flyers Notes:
The Flyers have recalled David Kase, and have sent back Mikhail Vorobyev to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Are you seriously a journalist? Intrical??? Do you mean integral? You should give up
Gary,
I wrote three articles back-to-back-to-back because of all the news that was released from the Flyers. That’s my fault and I apologize.
