The Flyers hired Jaroslav Svejkovsky and Jay Varady as Assistant Coaches to join Head Coach Rick Tocchet’s staff, as announced on June 5, 2025.
Svejkovsky, who previously worked with Tocchet in Vancouver, will focus on coaching the forwards and power play. Varady, formerly an assistant with the Detroit Red Wings and Arizona Coyotes under Tocchet, is expected to handle analytics and possibly penalty kill duties. Both bring prior NHL experience and familiarity with Tocchet’s coaching style.
