E216 – Grading The Flyers Defense & How Free Agency Impacts It
The NHL Playoffs are nearing its end as both series that remain are coming down to a highly competitive series and dragging on into the summer. At this point, Flyers fans await with bated breath as to what changes are coming down the line. Rumors of Matvei Michkov coming over to the NHL this summer only throws fuel to the fire as the 2024 NHL Entry Draft looms, promising change and hope. However, at this point we’re all forced to sit on our hands and wait to see what the Flyers strategy is going to be moving forward. With the recent rumors of budding young star, Martin Necas, being up for grabs and out of favor with Carolina Hurricanes organization, fans are looking for GM, Daniel Briere, to be aggressive. It’s clear that the there will be numerous opportunities to improve the roster in a way that aligns with the Flyers current status, but also helps them compete in the short term.
