TK with a hot start, let’s dive into the takeaways from Game #2.
A Hat-less Hat trick, well asides from Gritty’s
As we hoped and expected, Travis Konecny with a strong game. Game 1 had a goal removed, but tonight- a strong performance from Travis Konency, netting 2 goals in the first period and a third in the third period to complete the Hat trick! The second goal in which potentially could of been goalie interference, but the Penguins did not challenge. I happened to speak with Flyers fan Dominic DiGiorgio of NorthEast Philadelphia during the first period, and he makes a great point on the no challenge, “The goalie was already out of place, the save wouldn’t of happened anyway. Before the goalie was interfered with, he already was in a position not to make the save. It was a unsaveable save. 2-0 Flyers.” Either way it was a heck of a game from TK, also adding an assist for a four point night.

Penalty Killing
The Flyers had a strong penalty throughout the game it was one of their strong points. They killed off four power plays throughout the first two periods, and continued to stay strong. A dominant penalty kill will be crucial for a strong season this year, especially with playing all divisional games.
The Captain contributes
Claude Giroux stays point-ful and adds another two assists to his total on the season. He now has three points in two games (0g,3A). Coming off one of the worst performances last playoffs. The Captain looks faster, and is contributing early in the season. Especially at important times of the game. Let’s hope he continues to play consistent, and confident.
Sean Couturier was injured in the first period on a shoulder to shoulder hit with Jared McCann. Couturier did not return to the game, let’s pray he’s ok and it’s nothing serious.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
