The Flyers signed forward Garrett Wilson (the AHL veteran and Lehigh Valley Phantoms Captain to a two-way NHL contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season on March 5, 2026. He was placed on waivers with the intent to reassign him to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms if he cleared (which he did, as a depth/emergency option).

Ths move positioned him as a potential call-up, especially amid trade deadline speculation involving enforcer/forward types like Nic Deslauriers (who was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on March 6, 2026).

The Flyers have indeed recalled Garrett Wilson from the Phantoms to the NHL roster. This appears tied to roster needs, possibly creating depth or replacing outgoing players.

Wilson, 34, is a longtime AHL journeyman (drafted by Florida in 2009) with limited NHL experience (last in 2018-19 with Pittsburgh). He’s been a leader in Lehigh Valley, serving as Captain for recent seasons, and brings physicality and veteran presence. No games played or further details on his immediate role are confirmed yet, but this gives the Flyers an extra forward option.
