Owen Tippett got called for boarding at the 16:22 mark of the first period which gave the Maple Leafs their second power play of the game. It was another power play where the Maple Leafs didn’t record a shot and Garnet Hathaway had a great scoring chance on the breakaway while shorthanded. Unfortunately, he lost control of the puck at the last second.
York got called for high-sticking just 24 seconds into the second period to give the Maple Leafs their third power play of the game. They capitalized on this one as John Tavares’ wrist shot from the right circle went off the left post and past the glove of Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov. A nice pass by Auston Matthews set him up. This goal tied the game up at 1. Matthews and Mitch Marner collected assists.
The Flyers got their first power play of the game at the 5:16 mark of the second period when Marner was called for hooking. It was short-lived, however, as Tyson Foerster was called for high-sticking at the 5:54 mark, making the game four on four.
Konecny scored his second goal of the game on the four-on-four at the 7:14 mark of the second period. Noah Cates won a puck battle against Conor Timmons and passed the puck to Konecny, who was alone in front of the net. His backhanded shot went through the legs of Woll. This gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead. Cates received the lonely assist.
The Flyers lead didn’t last long as Matthews tied the game up at two 40 seconds later at the 7:55 mark of the second period. Marner found Matthews in front all alone from the left circle and Matthews put a snap shot past the blocker of Fedotov. Marner and Tavares were given assists.

The game would go to four on four and put the game to rest as Jamie Drysdale was called for tripping at the 19:47 mark of the third period. The Maple Leafs won the offensive zone draw, the Flyers stole it but couldn’t get a shot off in time.
The Flyers went 0 for 4 on the power play and killed off three of four Maple Leaf man advantages.
