The Philadelphia Flyers closed out their three-game homestand with a matchup against the Nashville Predators. They looked to go perfect and win a third straight game as they won the previous two games in high-scoring fashion. Garnet Hathaway returned to the lineup after dealing with an upper-body injury. Nicolas Deslauriers came out. Ivan Fedotov got the start in net. They’d go perfect on the homestand with a two-to-one victory. Fedotov kept the Flyers in the game all night long with huge saves, and Matvei Michkov kept himself in the Calder Trophy race by collecting two assists. The Flyers improve to 31-36-9 on the season.

The Flyers got the game’s first power play at the 5:03 mark of the first period as Brady Skjei was called for tripping. They only recorded one shot on net, but Predators goaltender Justus Annunen had to make a big pad save on Sean Couturier. Matvei Michkov dug away at the puck, but Annunen stood his ground.
Ryan Poehling gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at the 8:50 mark of the second period. Michkov made a cut to the middle and passed to Travis Konecny. Konecny then passed to Poehling who tipped the puck past the right pad of Annunen. Konecny and Michkov collected assists.

The Predators got their first power play at the 10:49 mark of the second period as Travis Sanheim got called for holding. The Flyers did a nice job clearing the puck, but goaltender Ivan Fedotov had to make three big saves to keep his team ahead.

Zachary L’Heureux tied the game up at one at the 13:14 mark of the second period. Michael McCarron drove the net and Fedotov made the save but allowed a rebound. L’Heureux collected the puck and put a backhander over the right shoulder of Fedotov. McCarron and Skjei tallied assists.
33 seconds later, the Flyers retook the lead thanks to Jamie Drysdale. Michkov made a pass to him through the legs of Fedor Svechkov, and Drysdale put a snap shot past Annunen’s blocker side. Michkov and Konecny were given assists.
The Predators pulled Annunen with 1:38 left in the third period, but it didn’t pay off. They weren’t able to get any more pucks past Fedotov. Poehling came up with a huge block towards the end.
The Flyers went zero for one on the power play but managed to kill off the Predators’ only man advantage.
Fedotov was solid all night and kept his team in it. He saved 28 of 29 shots, giving him a .966 save percentage.
