The Philadelphia Flyers took their four-game point streak to Winnipeg to face the Jets. The Flyers must continue to rack up points to stay in the wildcard race. Garnet Hathaway was out of the lineup with an upper-body injury. He took a nasty blindside hit from Bokondji Imama in their last game against the Penguins. Nicolas Deslauriers took his spot. They kept the streak alive by taking down the best team in the league two to one in a shoot-out. Ivan Fedotov stood on his head to keep the Flyers in the game all night long. The Flyers are back over .500 at 27-26-8 on the season.

Mark Scheifele gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at the 9:58 mark of the first period. Kyle Connor took the puck around the Flyers net and dropped it in front to Gabriel Vilardi. The puck took a fortuitous bounce to Scheifele who then put a snapshot over the blocker of Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov. Vilardi and Connor collected assists.
The Flyers got the game’s first power play at the 14:52 mark of the first period as Cole Perfetti got called for slashing. They didn’t capitalize on this opprotunity but got three shots on net and Matvei Michkov had a chance on a breakaway. However, Connor had a chance on the breakaway as well.
Nicolas Deslauriers and Logan Stanley dropped the gloves at the 17:07 mark of the second period. Neither player threw many punches but it was a good spirited fight overall.

The Flyers tied the game up at one at the 3:48 mark of the second period courtesy of Jamie Drysdale. Noah Cates made a nice backhanded pass to him and he put a wrist shot past the blocker of Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from the slot. Cates and Nick Seeler tallied assists.
The Jets got their first power play at the 14:27 mark of the third period as Drysdale was called for tripping. Fedotov made a huge save on Nikolaj Ehlers and the Flyers did a great job blocking shots and clearing the puck.
Rasmus Ristolainen was called for hooking at the 17:24 mark of the third period which gave the Jets their second power play. The Flyers continued to get into shooting lanes and blocking shots. They also kept the Jets to the outside and made it tough to shoot.
No one would score to win in regulation, so the game would go to overtime. The Jets controlled the puck for a majority of the time and Fedotov had to come up big. Cates made a huge glove save himself as well.
The game would then go to a shoot-out. The Jets sent out Scheifele, Connor, and Vilardi. The Flyers sent out Travis Konecny and Michkov. Michkov would be the only player to score to give the Flyers the extra point.
The Flyers went 0 for 1 on the power play but managed to kill off both of the Jets man advantages.
Fedotov played the best game of his career as a Flyer against the best team in the league. He saved 29 of 30 shots, giving him a .967 save percentage.
