The Philadelphia Flyers picked up their first win in 2025 with a 6-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks. This ended a four-game losing streak and the team picked up two valuable points. Ersson picked up his seventh career shutout and looked sharp all game long. The Flyers improved to 18-20-5 on the season.
Morgan Frost gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at the 6:48 mark of the first period. Travis Konecny sent the puck towards the net, went off of Frost’s skate, and past Ducks goaltender John Gibson. Konecny and Owen Tippett collected assists.
The Flyers got the game’s first power play at the 9:44 mark of the first period as the Ducks got called for too many men on the ice. Mason McTavish served the penalty. They spent most of the time in the offensive zone but only got one shot on net. It was a tester, however.
Ryan Strome got called for tripping at the 17:65 mark of the first period which gave the Flyers their second power play. They capitalized on this opportunity at the 18:11 mark as Konecny found Jamie Drysdale going in on net and slid the puck under the left pad of Gibson. This gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead. Konecny and Frost tallied assists.
The game started to get feisty towards the end of the period. At the 19:20 mark, Garnet Hathaway, Scott Laughton, McTavish, and Robby Fabbri were all called for roughing.
After the first period ended, another scrum ensued. Travis Sanheim took a few punches to the face from Ross Johnston. They both were called for roughing. This gave the Flyers their third power play.
The Flyers started the second period with a power play but only recorded one shot. They had a few good looks in the offensive zone but failed to capitalize.
The Ducks got their first power play at the 8:29 mark of the second period when Frost was called for tripping. The Flyers did a great job of stealing and clearing the puck when given the opportunity and didn’t allow the Ducks to record a shot on net.
Tippett gave the Flyers a 3-0 lead at the 16:12 mark of the second period. Sam Colangelo’s missed shot made it to Konency who went on a 2 on 1 with Tippett. Konecny made a nice cross-ice pass to Tippett who put a snap shot through the legs of Gibson. Konecny picked up the lonely assist.
Laughton and Frank Vatrano got called for roughing at the 16:57 mark of the second period. Vatrano hit Sanheim way after the whistle was blown. This made the game go to four-on-four. Both teams had a good chance but couldn’t get anything past the goaltenders.
Ryan Poehling gave the Flyers a 4-0 lead just 24 seconds into the third period. He got around Radko Gudas, crashed the net, and beat Gibson’s blocker side with a snapshot. Hathaway and Sanheim were given assists.

Things continued to get feisty at the 6:35 mark of the third period as Gudas was given a misconduct and roughing penalty, Strome was called for cross-checking, and Nick Seeler was called for roughing.
Michkov gave the Flyers a 5-0 lead at the 7:36 mark of the third period. Konecny shot the puck wide off the wall and Michkov deposited a snap shot past Gibson. With how long he’s been kept off the score sheet, he needed this. Konecny and Drysdale received assists.
Hathaway made it 6-0 Flyers at the 8:55 mark of the third period. Gibson made the initial save on Poehling but he allowed a big rebound, which Hathaway capitalized. He put a backhanded shot into the wide-open net. Poehling and Laughton collected assists.
