Former Philadelphia Flyers second round pick in the 2016 draft Pascal Laberge, is killing it with Danny Briere’s Maine Mariners. For anyone who did not know former Flyers forward Danny Briere is the President of the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. Briere and his Mariners have given Laberge another chance to play the game he loves, where one has to wonder where he would be if not for the injuries. Even when in last year for the Phantoms watching and covering them for Flyers Nitty Gritty, I thought he still looked solid but just could not stay in the lineup.

Obviously, Injuries are not easy to come back from. Well for Laberge, who has battled more than a few in his career, he is coming back in full force in the ECHL this season. Which is great to see. He is right now as this is typed on the 8th of December at a point-per-game pace. Laberge has 16 points with 7 goals and 9 apples for the Maine Mariners. He, knock on wood, looks to finally be finding his groove staying healthy with the Mariners.

For Laberge on top of his shot having good acceleration was part of his game as well. Well while watching on FLO Hockey some Mariners games, he looks to be regaining that pace he once had and always has kept the good shooting and passing skills he is showcasing right now. As long as Pascal Laberge can stay healthy and keep producing at the offensive rate he is, there is no reason to believe he will not get another AHL chance. Then we have to keep in mind he is still only 23. So if Laberge does get that other AHL chance, and hits it off, there is no reason to believe he cannot be an older age NHL call-up someday. All in all, it is just nice to see a prospect who got bit by the injury bug finding success with the Maine Mariners giving himself a chance to still achieve the dream of being an NHL player one day.
