What a busy week the NHL, and the Flyers in particular will have this coming week, with the NHL Draft starting Tuesday night, and free agency slated to open October 9th. Without further away, here are our answers to your questions.

I believe there is a market for Shayne Gostisbehere. Teams that miss out on Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Torey Krug could be suitors for Gostisbehere’s services, to include the Florida Panthers. The Panthers are one team that is also vying for Krug’s services so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. Believe it or not, there is a market for Ghost with the so-so free agency market. Now I would possibly expect some salary to come back with Ghost.

Philippe Myers I believe will receive a bridge deal similar to Travis Sanheim, and Nolan Patrick will re-sign to a one-year make it or break it. Don’t forget the Flyers would like to re-sign Brian Elliott too.

The Flyers currently have $6.2 million in cap space, and after re-signing Elliott, Patrick, and Myers the Flyers will have very little cap space left. The reality is Tyler Pitlick will become a cap casualty and hit free agency. It’s a shame, but it is reality.

Not many. The Flyers do not have the cap space to pull off something extravagant. I say Mikko Koivu, Kyle Clifford, and Tanner Laczynski.

Koivu is a perfect cheap option in case Patrick is not cleared and ready to go by the first game. At least the Flyers would be proactive in this case, and not try to solidify a spot within the farm system. Unless a prospect beats out a Vet at training camp.

This is as question unfortunately I cannot answer directly. I am indeed optimistic (Like Chuck Fletcher) that Patrick will play during the 2020-21 season. It was an encouraging sign to see him play in a scrimmage this past Thursday, so all signs continue to point in the right direction. Let’s see what happens at training camp. Below are some photos and videos from the scrimmage:

  1. JVR giroux vorechek to Ottawa ghost Patrick first round pick to jets for laine niskanen to oilers

  2. Trade Ghost for picks plus picking up a part of his salary this year. Use savings to sign Pitlick. He was the biggest bargain on the roster this year after Myers and is a prototypical high motor Flyer with speed that we desperately need.
