Is it Training Camp time yet? Are the Days of the sweltering heat of the summer almost behind us? Flyers hockey is well over a away, man oh man. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

Both Ivan Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov are indeed under contract for the 2025-26 season. Both could see playing time in Lehigh, realistically, as Kolosov is waivers exempt, while Fedotov has to be waived with the intent of sending him to Lehigh.
It will be interesting to see if the Flyers carry three goalies again like last season at times, or will they nip this in the b utt right away, and make a decision on who stays/goes.
Tyson Foerster is flat-out good. Foerster, hopefully will be healthy for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Foerster, 23, is my guess for the most key contributions, not named Matvei Michkov
The Flyers will be a playoff bubble team once again this year, more than likely. However, I think this will be an interesting trade deadline, to which the Flyers might add a piece or two to try to make a push for the playoffs, especially considering they will have a lot of cap space for the 2026-27 season.
Jett Luchanko Is in a very precarious position, with the Flyers having an option of sending him back to the OHL. He should definitely be playing, at the very least in the AHL, but age restrictions forbid death from happening under the current CBA.
i think Luchanko will head back to the Guelph Storm For another season, a season in which he may very well be dealt by the Storm for rebuild purposes/assets. This is in large part due to a numbers game, as Alex Bump and possibly Nikita Grebenkin could win two available slots, Plus there are always options to send them back to the AHL, as well, In the event either may need a break.
It just makes more sense to not rush Luchanko, especially given the state of the rebuild of the team..
Maybe the Flyers will add more spice to their season, to include another fan boot for their goal song. If that’s the case, you should nominate the song above. Anything is possible right?
Training Camp should begin in mid September, with the first preseason game slated for September 21, 2025. Rookie Camp usually begins about a week before Training Camp.
Practices are held in Voorhees, NJ, and are free and open to the public.
Comparing the Flyers’ performance under Rick Tocchet and John Tortorella is tricky since Tocchet’s tenure as Head Coach began in May 2025.
Tocchet is described as demanding yet collaborative, emphasizing grit and defensive play like John Tortorella but with better player communication. He’s seen as a “partner” rather than a dictator, fostering trust and development, particularly with young talent. His power-play units in Pittsburgh (2014–17) ranked fifth in the NHL at 20.3%.
Fit with Flyers: Tocchet’s familiarity with the organization (Flyers Hall of Famer, played 621 games) and relationships with General Manager Danny Briere and President Keith Jones make him a natural fit. His hiring is viewed as a shift to a player-development-focused approach while maintaining competitiveness. He’s expected to improve the Power Play and attract free agents due to his reputation.
Let’s see how this pans out first, without drawing comparisons just yet.
Yea I mean teams do this from time to time. The last NHL team to win a Stanley Cup without a clear-cut first-line center was the Montreal Canadiens They won the Cup that year, but lacked a dominant, top-tier center like many other Cup winning teams.
While the 1993 Canadiens had strong players at Center, including Guy Carbonneau, Brian Bellows, and Vincent Damphousse, none were considered elite or dominant players at the center position compared to other first-line centers around the league.
My prediction for Matvei Michkov is to score 35 goals. 40 would be nice, but I’m reluctant to go that high this season.
The last Flyers player to score 40 or more goals in a single NHL season was Jeff Carter, way back in the 2008-09 season with 46 goals.
Yes and right now it appears that Samuel Ersson is a part of the Flyers future. Personally, I think the organization will wait until Yegor Zavaragin comes to North America, to determine a goalie of the future. His KHL runs through the 2026-27 season, so right now the Flyers appear to be high on Ersson, at the moment.

Dan Vladar, I believe, is a stop gap until Zavaragin comes over. With that being said, Aleksei Kolosov is still under contract for one more season, at least with Philly. He’s expected to report and be part of a three goalie tandem, or head to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The same can be said for Ivan Fedotov, but the Flyers would have to waive Fedotov, with the intent of sending him to Lehigh.
At least to start the season, it will be an Ersson/Vladar tandem, but as many have seen Flyers Goaltending in the past. Anything can happen, so stay tuned. The first 14-15 games of the season are no joke, and it doesn’t get easier in late November/Early December. Unfortunately, the wheels on the bus can come off fast.
