The Flyers came off their break with a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Monday night. They had plenty of chances to at least tie or win this game, but they just couldn’t finish on the offensive side of the puck. Fortunately, the defense and the gold tinting played well in large part, so that’s good sign of things to come on this current four game homestand. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

The Flyers should be true contenders within the next two to three years. Honestly, I see it happening within the two-year period. Just look at what John Tortorella was able to do with this current club that lacks high-end talent, due to injury at the very least. Good coaching makes up for a lack of high-end skill for the most part, but it’s not the cure all for this season. Within the next two years it’s entirely different, with high-end young talent hopefully, sprinkled with high-end free agent acquisitions. At least the Flyers organization has the toughest part solved, and that appears to be between the pipes.

The Flyers have been very patient with their young prospects, and that’s something that they should be giving kudos for. Samuel Ersson is it favorite of John Tortorella’s, so it’s highly unlikely the Flyers would part with him. Now Felix Sandström is it possibility to be traded by the trade deadline, as he right now would be the odd man out next season, but this might be an offseason move so the Flyers don’t cripple the organization with the goaltending aspect. One injury changes a lot, especially with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Reading Royals.

The Flyers have and started winning as of late. They have accumulated points in 17 of their last 27 games played (13-10-4). If the Flyers make a move up top, more than likely that we’ll have to wait until offseason.

I’m not 100% certain if they’re directly involved with the team, but Bill Meltzer spearheads this organization in that regard. He does a phenomenal job with arranging different events, to include charitable events. I don’t have a true answer for you, and I don’t want to give you the wrong information.

The Flyers alumni are very valued within the organization, and that shall not be forgotten. They actually do a great job in that area with making parts of their alumni team ambassadors, and they are at the forefront with the fans.

The Flyers are coming out with some sort of a new Jersey next season, so maybe that is part of it, who knows. Stay tuned.

The Florida Panthers can elect to keep a pick if they finish outside of the top 10 only once. For instance, if they finish outside of the top 10 this season they can elect to keep the 2023 pick, but the 2024 pick automatically goes to Montreal regardless, thus forcing the Flyers 2024 pick to be moved to the 2025 Draft.

It’s very rare that a team elects to keep their pick, unless they are picking within the top five. However, weirder things have happened.

Better days are ahead. At least the Flyers have earned points in 17 of their last 27 games played (13-10-4). John Tortorella is a great coach.

Sports are weird that way. The Flyers, for the most part, played a solid game on Monday night against the New York Islanders, they just lacked the finish. Hopefully they come out strong against Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. They have accumulated points in 17 of their last 27 games played (13-10-4).

Chuck Fletcher will likely remain as General Manager of the Flyers until the offseason at this point. They started winning, and have garnered points in 17 of their last 27 games played (13-10-4).

They will be Sellers by the trade deadline. The Flyers will look to move expiring contracts for draft capital. Expiring contracts like James van Riemsdyk, Justin Braun (Again), Nick Seeler, and Zack MacEwen (Possibly), and yes Felix Sandström possibly.

Trades involving Kevin Hayes and Ivan Provorov are more offseason moves, and I really don’t expect any doozers or shockers at the trade deadline this season.
