The Flyers are rolling into the new year. They are currently on a two game winning streak, and look to gather their first victory in 2023 tonight against the Anaheim Ducks. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

The Flyers will move on from some players likely by the beginning of February, leading up to the trade deadline. Players like Justin Braun, James van Riemsdyk (Expiring contract), or even possibly Nick Seeler. I do get the sense they would like to move Kevin Hayes and even possibly Rasmus Ristolainen although he’s been playing well. They have a lot of money tied to the backend, so I could see them trying to move Ristolainen.

Chuck Fletcher will solely retain the title of President here shortly, and Danny Briere will take over the helm. After the new year is what I was hearing, so that could be from now to February. We shall see how this goes.

Here’s the players I think will be moved:

James van Riemsdyk

Justin Braun

Rasmus Ristolainen

Kevin Hayes could be moved, but more than likely that’s an offseason move. There is a just a little more to navigate with a move involving Hayes, to include a list of 12 teams to be traded to (He has a M-NTC) and a retention of money.

I know a lot of people would like to see the Flyers lose for Bedard, but in reality it’s good to try and build a winning culture. These young players have to know what it feels like to win.

John Tortorella is a great coach. I’ve never met a coach that wanted to lose, and I’ve personally met lots of coaches in my lifetime mainly due to my wife being a Head Coach herself. So for those people saying the Flyers should lose, I get it, but they shouldn’t have hired a coach then.

  1. The Flyers realize they are sellers now. They may not publicly say it, but they realize it.
  2. The only Veteran players the Flyers would consider untouchable would be Scott Laughton, Travis Konecny, and Carter Hart. Everyone else would be fair game, although I do believe they would be hesitant to move Ivan Provorov and Tony DeAngelo (Cheap contract for his role) due to the uncertainty surrounding Ryan Ellis.
  3. That will come soon enough, but he will not be terminated. He will just remain in the role as President, a title he currently holds. Chuck Fletcher will solely retain the title of President here shortly, and Danny Briere will take over the helm. After the new year is what I was hearing, so that could be from now to February. We shall see how this goes.
