Wade Allison stood out above the rest in Developmental Camp, and excelled on the first day of Rookie Camp. Allison appears to be a natural at camps:

“This is go time. I’m excited bodies healthy. I’m ready to go.” – Wade Allison

Allison continued, “I like the challenge (Making the team). They set up the team, I want to win. I’m here to work; I’m going to do whatever they want me to do. They put a big challenge for us young guys, but that’s what we all want.”

He is a ball of energy, and a holster for those that do not know him. It appears that is what makes him unique and likable, asides from being a good hockey player. Yesterday he was part of media following his presser, and even asked Morgan Frost a question, “He’s unbelievable,” Allison said of Frost. “I’d do anything for that skill. He’s a special player, sometimes he leaves me watching. He’s going to make a lot of noise in the NHL.

“He’s a lot bigger than last year, and two years ago. He’s going to be a special player.” – Wade Allison said of Morgan Frost

To back up Allison’s words here, Frost did look bigger at developmental camp, and Frost said yesterday he weighs 190 pounds.

The young 23-year-old in Allison skates very hard, and he is usually precise after making some tough cuts. He is fast, decisive with his decision making, and has one hell of a shot. His shot is lethal as he picks a part of the net time after time, “Its go time,” Allison said. “If you’re not ready you will be left behind. Come everyday ready to go.”

Allison had some very high words for Chris Stewart and Danny Briere, as well, “They are legends,” said Allison. “Danny Briere was a great player for a long time. Stewy was as well. Anytime you pick their brain, take what you want from them.”

It remains to be seen if Wade Allison will make the team in a few weeks, but one thing remains clear. It appears he knows exactly what to do and how to make the Flyers on a full-time basis. Staying healthy is one aspect, another key aspect is having a clear mind, to which Allison has both.
