Flyers Fire Rob Windfelder

The Flyers are 2-2-1 in the 2023 pre-season, and now the orange and black will play mostly with a opening night lineup tonight. They play host to the New York Islanders again, and are looking to fare better than they did when these two teams clashed to begin the pre-season over a week ago. Here are a look at the lineup tonight:

Farabee-Couturier-Foerster

Laughton-Cates-Konecny

Tippett-Frost-Atkinson

Deslauriers-Poehling-Hathaway

York-Ristolainen

Staal-Sanheim

Seeler-Walker

Hart

Notes:

As I wrote in my mailbag this morning. This should not come as a shock for both Brink or Andrae, to include Wade Allison sitting tonight. Both Brink and Andrae will probably head to Lehigh to start, that’s just my opinion. In my opinion, Wade Allison is the 13th forward, Brink and Andrae will go to Lehigh to start (Andrae is waivers exempt, not Egor Zamula. Zamula has to be waived to send back to Lehigh). Yesterday, Torts said that waivers could be of importance moving forward, well Andrae is waivers exempt and Zamula is not. Hence the reason to send Andrae back for playing time.

John Tortorella says that the Flyers have a good understanding of how the opening night lineup will shape up. With that being said Emil Andrae, Bobby Brink, and Wade Allison will sit tonight.

There are still some positional battles up for grabs with Tyson Foerster and Bobby Brink vying for most likely one spot. On the defensive side of the puck, Emil Andrae is still looking to make a case, yes even though he is not playing.
