Another camp day has come and gone, and the Flyers look more and more confident all the way around. It’s hard to believe what this team looked like and the way they played just a season ago. With the new defense, and bringing in a potential lead score. Who knows where this team can go. Today, I was live at Flyers Training Camp with Dana Radle, a young promising writer in the making. Her and i really focused on some key topics and this is what we saw.
Oskar Lindblom back in form
Another year removed from cancer treatment, and a recent clear scan. Oskar looks faster and quicker than recent times. He didn’t have that look of fear or eeriness about him. Last season, he seemed to be very cautious about his play. Now, we can’t exactly blame him but it’s great to see him back in game form.
Risto-Sanheim pairing- couldn’t be any better
Some of the new defensive looks is the pairing of “Risto” and Travis Sanheim. I noticed that this pairing seems to really be clicking. They moved the puck extremely well together, and really know where each other are going to be on the ice. The physicality of Risto is bringing a whole new confidence out of Sanheim- really excited to see this line in real game time.
New team-New confidence
Dana and I both came to agree that there is a new positive feeling in the air. While times are changing off the ice, things are certainly changing on the ice as well. Starting in net with Carter Hart and Martin Jones, this pair will keep fans on their toes. Carter looked like he did when he first came up to the Flyers today. Jones also looked good between the pipes, as well. Now looking at the Captain, Giroux looked a little rusty with the first couple of drills, but turned on the jets for the scrimmages and really looked like a leader. Some other standouts were Keith Yandle and Cam Atkinson. These two had a chemistry that was natural and really gelled with the others on the ice. Excited to see what the team looks like once Kevin Hayes comes back from injury.

That’s my story and i’m sticking to it
