Flyers Rookies lose 5-2: Ethan Samson was spectacular

The Flyers rookies lost 5-2 to the New York Rangers rookies in their game on September 13, 2025, at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA, as part of the 2025 Rookie Series.

Ethan Samson showed a lot of promise, and the specific goal scorers were Alexis Gendron and Ethan Samson. Gendron scored his second of the weekend.

Samson, a 22-year-old defenseman and Flyers prospect, indeed showed significant promise during the 2025 Rookie Series against the New York Rangers at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA. As a member of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (the Flyers’ AHL affiliate) entering the final year of his entry-level contract, Samson has been noted for his hard-shooting style and offensive potential from the blue line. He was part of the Flyers’ rookie roster for the series, paired with Andre Mondoux on defense.

All in all, it was a great weekend for both Samson and Grebenkin. Both show promise, and both will make cases for the opening day lineup.
