The Flyers have quite a few notable prospects at their current training camp. Below are some reports on how a few of the prospects did in last night’s Orange and Black scrimmage.

Team Orange

#55 – Sam Morin – LW:

Chris Maher: Morin was OK tonight. Few chances where he made some good plays and used his body. Doesn’t necessarily seem like he has the offensive upside to be a winger but I’m not going to give up on him. I like Morin & I think this can work for him. Overall, decent game tonight I’d say.

#60 – Zayde Wisdom – RW

Clare McManus: Wisdom had a decent game in his first full scrimmage with the Flyers. One negative I took away was there were a few times where he looked out of position and not covering the point in the defensive zone. Despite this, Wisdom skated with confidence and grit. He always had an active stick and skated hard to the puck on defense and on the forecheck every shift. Wisdom also had some good passes in the offensive zone.

#59 Mark Friedman – RD

Max Bricker: Friedman had an overall solid game on a pairing with Egor Zamula with one of the only glaring mistakes of his game being a turnover to Scott Laughton which led to a goal in the 3v3 overtime. He seems to be comfortable and is NHL ready, but with the depth at defense don’t expect him to be in the opening night lineup.

#65 Wyatte Wylie – RD:

Chris Maher: Overall, Wylie had a solid game. He was on Offense for Team Orange tonight. He was granted a penalty shot off a nice defensive play that led to a breakaway where he was tripped up. Hart made the saves, minutes later he had a great chance off the setup from the newly formed winger, Sam Morin. Wylie looked decent overall.

#54 Yegor Zamula – LD

Clare McManus: The Flyers sure seem to have another steal in undrafted defenseman Yegor Zamula. Zamula looked calm and confident in the Orange and Black scrimmage. He made smart passes out of the defensive zone and did a good job to evade pressure from the opposition. He was also reliable in the back-end with an active stick and covering the front of the net. There was one negative from Zamula. In the second period he had two puck fumbles that were dangerous. In the three-on-three, Zamula made a great stretch-pass to Hayes for a breakaway opportunity.

#36 Linus Sandin – RW

Max Bricker: Linus Sandin was solid in tonight’s game, which is exactly what the Flyers need from him. He is really never going to blow your socks off with a big play, but using the old cliche, “he makes the little plays right”, it doesn’t matter. He’s good defensively, great along the boards, and by the way he plays, you can tell he’s a student of the game. From Vigneault’s comments and the depth at wing, don’t expect Sandin to be in the opening night roster, but there’s a reason General Manager Chuck Fletcher signed him from overseas.

#48 Morgan Frost – C

Max Bricker: Morgan Frost may have been the most noticeable player on the ice tonight. On a line with Sandin and Bunnaman for most of the game, Frost carried his line and set up numerous A+ scoring chances, with none of them being finished. Frost has tremendous ability to sneakily steal the puck and has greatly improved his game in terms of moving his feet. He also was on the powerplay in which he was denied with an impressive save by Brian Elliott set up by Nolan Patrick. With his performance tonight, Frost should be considered even more for the opening night lineup, but I don’t think he makes it due to the excellent center depth of the team.

#52 Tyson Foerster – RW

Jamey Baskow: Foerster really showed some promise last night. The Flyers first round selection made some nice plays with his limited ice time last night. He pushed the play and in my opinion he was noticeable in a good way last night.

He came into the intrasquad scrimmage with nothing to lose. I like how he is not shying away from physicality either, especially along the boards.

#32 Felix Sandström – G
