Flyers prospects played well at the WJSS yesterday:

Jack Berglund- Captain, 1G
Shane Vansaghi- 1G
Heikki Ruohonen- 1A
Jack Murtagh- 1A

Jack Berglund, drafted in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft, participated in the 2025 WJSS held in Minneapolis from July 25 to August 2, representing Team Sweden. He was given the Captaincy, at least for yesterday’s game in the 5-2 victory over Team USA Blue.

The WJSS is an evaluation camp for the IIHF World Junior Championship, and rosters for teams like Sweden often include returning players like Berglund, who was a safe bet for at least a third-line role due to his experience in Sweden’s SHL and his prior World Junior participation (though he withdrew last year due to a hand injury).

Heikki Ruohonen did have a notable performance at the World Junior Summer Showcase (WJSS) yesterday, July 27, 2025, in the 5-2 loss to Team USA White.

His involvement in Finland’s first goal, where he made a strong play by getting around a defender to set up the score. Rhuonen was one of the most visible Finnish players in a 5-2 loss to Team USA White, indicating his active presence on the ice despite the team’s struggles with execution.
