Some Flyers Prospects have been getting some much needed attention, with the likes of London’s own Denver Barkey, Jett Luchanko, Nikita Grebenkin, Karsen Dorwart, and Alex Bump all for good reason. Let’s break down the latest news surrounding these prized, young prospects.

Karsen Dorwart

Dorwart, could make his NHL Debut tonight against the Nashville Predators, fresh off his season with Michigan State University. He is a Center that stands at 6’1, and weighs 194 pounds. Dorwart registered 13 goals and 18 assists on the season in 35 games played for Michigan State University.

Most teams this time of year are either against the cap, or have reached their maximum limit in contractual contracts. Not in the Flyers case.

Denver Barkey

Barkey is flat out awesome man. He’s clutch, and always comes up big in big moments. Barkey enjoyed a five point day (2g,3a) yesterday, en route to a 6-3 victory. This was London’s second playoff game, and second victory of the playoffs.

For the playoffs, Barkey has 3g,4a in two games played, and trust me the Flyers brain trust was there watching. They were treated to a 6-3 London Knights pounding last night, and the Knights lead the series 2-0 against Owen Sound Attack.

Jett Luchanko

Luchanko registered his first point as a Phantom with his silky hands this past Saturday night, and what a move he made to find Garrett Wilson wide open in the slot. Man he’s just so fast, which leads to open icew.

One of Luchanko’s great weapons is his speed. He gathers speed through the neutral, as he accelerates from end to end, thus creating spacing, as he uses his vision to feed the open man.

The orange and black need the speed infused into their lineup. Enter Luchanko next season.

Nikita Grebenkin

Nikita Grebenkin scored his third goal as a Phantom on Saturday night in a 3-1 victory. I still can’t believe that the Toronto Maple Leafs gave up on him.

Grebenkin now has 3g,2a as a Phantom, and believe it or not he has used his size wisely. He appears to be faster than I’ve personally seen him in the past, and that may be due to confidence.

Alex Bump

It’s been well reported now, that barring any last ditch efforts by Western Michigan University, Bump will indeed sign his ELC (Entry-Level-Contract) when his season is completed.

Bump will then join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms with their playoff push. The thing is Western Michigan advanced to the Frozen Four with a spectacular 2-1 victory over Umass on Saturday night.

Good for him, and the rest of Western Michigan, as they garner more experience.

What a week ahead for Flyers Prospects. It will be interesting to say the least, but stay with us for all the prospect updates.
