Flyers prospect Elliot the Destroyer (Desnoyers) finished the weekend second in the league in goals (11), and third in the league in points (20), after potting five goals while chipping in two assists. For his efforts, Desnoyers has been named QMJHL player of the week again (Thanks to our awesome wrote Conor Doherty for letting me know @conordoherty). I mean he potted four goals in one game in a 5-4 victory again at the division leading Charlottetown Islanders on Friday night.

I feel like I have written on Desnoyers all weekend, and it’s because he’s smashing it. He is just torching the ‘Q’ right now, and terrorizing opposing netminders, while they crack their sticks over the crossbar in frustration. Desnoyers is playing in all situations as he’s being able to finally showcase his skills, and his short-handed goal against Cape Breton was a thing of beauty.

This young 18-year-old in Desnoyers has won 173 faceoffs in 330 attempts (52.4%). He has mostly played Center alongside his comrade from the Moncton Wildcats in a potential first round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft in Zachary L’Heureux. Both of these players are flourishing, as they played behind some great Wildcat players in the past before being traded to a rebuilding Halifax Moosehead club.

Whatever the case maybe for Desnoyers, he continues to show off his good skating abilities, as one can see he has honed in on that aspect of the game the past few years. Even more intriguing are his playmaking abilities, and if he continues to flourish at this rate the Flyers may very well have drafted a steal in Desnoyers.
