Alexis Gendron and the Drummondville Voltigeurs won the QMJHL Championship last night. Gendron collected two assists in the victory.
Gendron actually registered 11 goals and eight assists in 15 playoff games. The Voltigeurs defeated Baie-Comeau Drakkar 4-3 last night to win the Championship.
A competitive Gendron stands at 5’10 and weighs 174 pounds. He can play center or right wing. Gendron was chosen with the Flyers last selection in the seventh round (220th overall) in 2022. McKeen’s Hockey had him ranked him 71st overall, to which Gendron could end up being a draft day steal.
“Really competitive kid. He’s grown a huge amount. He was a no brainer for us.” – Flyers Assistant General Manager Brent Flahr said at the draft
This young 20-year-old prospect in Gendron possesses one heck of a shot. He has a quick, but strong release for his wrist shot. I think that fools a lot of netminders in the “Q”, as he was sent back to the Drummondville Voltigeurs for playing time. Let’s see how he develops, there is no reason to rush his development, hence the reason he was sent back in the first place. Gendron should play for Lehigh Valley once again next season.

Gendron looks promising. I would start out in Lehigh Valley so that he gets familiar with the pace. I would also try and beef him up a little bit so that he can handle the hits in the NHL. He looks like a steal of a pick. We have some great scouts out there.
