Back again with another edition of The Hockey Writers Ink Pod Cast that you all have been craving for! Hello and welcome back guys as always, I’m Lance Green writer for Flyers Nitty Gritty and I’ll be your host; but let me not forget my co-host SteelFlyers who will be along for the ride as well.

In this week’s episode we discuss some of my latest articles and the issues that surround them. The first segment is about the sudden swarm of young Russian goaltenders that are set to take over the NHL this season.  This topic is derived from my article titled: Should the Flyers Cash in on the Russian Netminder Invasion and if so, Then with Whom?

In this segment we go over the influx that other teams from around the league, most being right here in the Eastern Conference that have some new Russian blood taking over for some very established veteran netminders.

We then will analysis the current stock of young goaltender prospects within the Flyers system already to see if any could be ready to take over the back up role next season for the aging veteran Brain Elliott who would then be 36 years old. Or whether the Flyers should go after possibly the best Russian goaltender not in the NHL today whose play has him currently breaking records in the KHL. Who could possibly slot in as the team’s backup goalie until one of the other Flyers prospects are ready to take over the position?

In the next segment we go over the conundrum that is Morgan Frost; and what are the Flyers to do with him given the fact that center Nolan Patrick looks to be back and ready to go. Will he make the opening night roster? Will he be forced to wait for his chance as a member of the teams’ taxi squad? We shall see.  This segment is based off one of the other articles I put out this week titled: How Badly Does Morgan Frost Want to Earn a Spot on the Flyers This Year?

So, set back and relax and get ready to view us talk about all these hot button Flyers topics and more because the Laptops are off, and the press box maybe closed, but the mics are just getting warmed up!
