The Flyers are back at against a different looking New York Islanders team. Last night the Islanders picked up two veteran players in Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri to help their push in the playoffs. Let’s get into it.

Sam “The Body” Morin Defenseman

Sam Morin, who is a big body, powerful player, exits early as he gets called with a questionable hit that sent Cizikas head first into the boards. Morin was hit with a five minute major and a game misconduct. It was a questionable call to begin with, and it ended in a huge advantage for the Islanders. Over recent games, it seems more and more likely that Morin will get calls against him for being a heavy hitting player. The defense had to really step it up and more minutes would be logged for the rest of the group.

Hart doing his best

For sometime now, some of the Philadelphia fans were extremely questionable of the play of Carter Hart. He’s been inconsistent and not playing at the top of his tier. However, tonight Carter made some absolutely great saves to keep the team alive throughout. Carter is not to blame this loss on at all. It’s great to see him playing well and looking more and more confident, that is something I certainly noticed tonight.

Jake with a solid goal

Great goal by Voracek to net his seventh goal of the year. It’s been a tough here for him, but to see him get that goal on a great pass by Claude Giroux was a good sign. Who knows how many more “Giroux to Voracek” goals we will see in the seasons to come. Two great players for this franchise, doing it one more time. Solid all game by both, but not enough to win.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
