Oskar Lindblom is an amazing athlete. After beating Cancer, Lindblom returned to the Flyers with the hopes of showcasing that cancer will never slow him down. Seeing Lindblom happy on the ice really melts the heart, and he looked a lot like himself before the Flyers postponed the rest of their games this weeks due to a Coronavirus outbreak.
Unfortunately, Lindblom has entered the Covid protocol as of 5pm EST today, both Lindblom and Scott Laughton. It’s a darn shame folks, but Lindblom needs our prayers. This does not mean he is indeed positive, nor Laughton, but please keep him in your thoughts this weekend, and the rest of the Flyers in Covid protocol for that matter (Claude Giroux, Scott Laughton, Justin Braun, Morgan Frost, Jakub Voracek, Travis Sanheim, and Oskar Lindblom). Most people were in fear that Lindblom might be exposed to Covid, and it’s a darn shame to report this.
Lindblom appeared to be more like himself as of late, before the Flyers were postponed due to Covid-19. He’s blocking shots (9), hitting (10), and board battling well. What has impressed me the last few games about Lindblom the way he’s forechecking once again. It appears that he is no longer timid or hesitant to get involved to make the play. That is a huge victory for Lindblom, as he was successful in the dirty areas before his unfortunate situation took place.
The young 24-year-old in Lindblom is a very talented hockey player. He gets to the dirty areas to score (32 career goals and 29 career assists), and his ability to extend plays cannot be understated. Lindblom isn’t a Swedish sensation for nothing.
Let’s hope Lindblom and the rest of the Flyers come back better than ever next week, and a let’s not speculate who did this or who did what. Let’s just keep Lindblom and company in our thoughts this weekend.
