The Flyers are sliding down the ranks of the Metropolitan Division as they can’t seem to find any traction. Thursday night they suffered their third loss in a row losing to the Boston Bruins by the score of 6-3.

They’ve picked up zero momentum after a successful three game road trip out west where they grabbed 5 of a possible 6 points. They broke their six game losing streak by beating Vegas 2-1. After they picked up one point in Utah the Flyers enjoyed a decisive victory over the best team in the NHL beating the Colorado Avalanche 7-3.

At that point it looked like the spell had been lifted but it turns out it was only paused. Since that trip the Flyers have lost three in a row and have been outscored 15-6 over that stretch. These have not been throw away games either. Before losing to Boston tonight they lost two important interdivision games to the Islanders and Blue Jackets.

Over the holidays the Flyers were two points out of 1st place in the division. As January comes to an end they are 14 points back. So far 2026 has not been very kind to the Philadelphia Flyers. They started the new year with two resounding 5-2 wins over the Oilers and the Ducks. That Ducks game was a ball of energy that blew the roof off the home arena. That was January 6th, after that everything turned sour.

The Flyers have now given up more goals then any other team in their division. Since January 6th they’ve been outscored 55-31. The Flyers are in a funk and they gotta figure it out and soon. They have three games left before the Olympic break.

The Flyers have scored six goals over the last three games Travis Konecny has scored four of them. When the Flyers snapped their six game losing streak in Vegas they beat the Golden Knights 2-1. Konecny scored both of those goals.

If the Flyers want to play follow the leader to turn things around TK is the leader to follow. He has been relentless throughout this brutal stretch. He pushes himself in all situations. His tenacity and grit needs to become contagious. He’s leading by example and that’s the most legitimate way to prove a point.
